Now in its 85th season as the home of Purdue football, Ross-Ade Stadium has provided a significant home-field advantage for the Boilermakers under head coach Joe Tiller. From 1997 to 2007, the Boilermakers have posted a 52-18 record – a .743 winning percentage – at Ross-Ade while the average attendance has risen from 45,306 in 1996 (the year before Tiller arrived in West Lafayette) to 65,319 in 2000 (the sixth-largest in school history).

From 2001 to 2003, Ross-Ade underwent a $70 million renovation that has made it one of the most attractive and fan-friendly facilities in all of college football.

A unique alignment of conditions – blistering heat and an aging irrigation system – resulted in the playing surface literally coming up in pieces in the fall of 2005. At the conclusion of the season, a team of experts led by Athletics Director Morgan J. Burke and Tiller set out to chart a long-term solution for the fieldΓÇª Cont – Ross-Ade Stadium Official Site

The popular TV Show Big Brother has recently started for the 2008 season in the USA with a new set of house guests for us all to watch. Below is the house from an aerial view – make sure and click the Bird’s Eye view to get a closer look!

Big Brother is a reality television show. In each series, which lasts for around three months, a group of people (normally fewer than sixteen at any one time) live together full-time in the “Big Brother House”, isolated from the outside world but under the continuous gaze of television cameras. The Housemates try to win a cash prize by avoiding periodic, usually publicly-voted, evictions from the house. The idea for “Big Brother” came during a brainstorm session at the production house of John de Mol Produkties (an independent part of Endemol) on Thursday,September 4, 1997. The first Big Brother broadcast was in the Netherlands in 1999 on the Veronica TV channel. It has been a prime-time hit in almost 70 different countries. The show’s name comes from George Orwell’s 1949 novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, in which Big Brother is the all-seeing, all-controlling leader of the dystopian Oceania. – Wikipedia

Notes: Originally was called Anaheim Stadium when the Angels began play there in 1966. The name was changed to Edison International Field in 1997 and to Angel Stadium following the 2003 season.

Angel Stadium has been the home of the Angels since their move from Los Angeles. In 1964, ground was broken for Anaheim Stadium and in 1966, the then-California Angels moved into their new home after having spent four seasons renting Dodger Stadium (referred to during Angels games as Ch├ívez Ravine Stadium) from the Dodgers. The stadium was built on a parcel of about 160 acres of flat land originally used for agricultural purposes in the southeast portion of Anaheim. – Wikipedia
