It was constructed largely to lure an NFL team back to St. Louis, and to serve as a convention center. The Dome provides multiple stadium configurations that can seat up to 70,000 people. Seating levels include: a private luxury suite level, a private club seat and luxury suite level, a concourse level (lower bowl) and terrace level (upper bowl). The dome was completed in 1995. – Cont – Edward Jones Dome – Wikipedia

The official site of the St. Louis Rams – Edward Jones Dome

The official site of the St. Louis Rams – Home Page

St. Louis Rams Team Page

NFL.com – Official Site of the National Football League

Click the image below to pan and zoom around the Aerial View or Bird’s Eye View of the stadium using Microsoft Virtual Earth.  Make sure and check out the rest of the NFL Stadium views to find another team’s home field!

Technorati Tags: NFL,St. Louis Rams,Edward Jones Dome,Virtual Earth,NFC West

Seattle Seahawks – Qwest Field Aerial and Bird’s Eye View

Featured

NFL

Washington

NFC West

Qwest Field

Seattle Seahawks

Virtual Earth

Qwest Field is a stadium built for football and soccer located in Seattle, Washington, USA. The stadium opened in July 2002 and was built on the site of the Kingdome, the previous stadium for the Seahawks, Major League Baseball’s Seattle Mariners, and several other Seattle sports teams. On March 26, 2000, to make way for the construction of the stadium, the Kingdome fell in the world’s largest implosion of a single concrete structure.Cont – Qwest Field – Wikipedia

Qwest Field

Seattle Seahawks – Home

Seattle Seahawks Team Page

NFL.com – Official Site of the National Football League

Click the image below to pan and zoom around the Aerial View or Bird’s Eye View of the stadium using Microsoft Virtual Earth.  Make sure and check out the rest of the NFL Stadium views to find another team’s home field!

Technorati Tags: NFL,Qwest Field,Seattle Seahawks,Virtual Earth,NFC West

San Francisco Forty-Niners’ – Candlestick Park Aerial and Bird’s Eye View

California

Featured

NFL

The stadium’s incomparable aura is as much a definitive part of the San Francisco Forty-Niners’ tradition as their great stars.  The place has presence.  Start with the breathtaking view of San Francisco Bay.  Add the aroma of tailgate parties.  Witness hot-dog wrappers swirling in the unpredictable wind.  Unless you’re tailgating, save your appetite for the [...]

The stadiumΓÇÖs incomparable aura is as much a definitive part of the San Francisco Forty-NinersΓÇÖ tradition as their great stars.┬á The place has presence.┬á Start with the breathtaking view of San Francisco Bay.┬á Add the aroma of tailgate parties.┬á Witness hot-dog wrappers swirling in the unpredictable wind.┬á Unless youΓÇÖre tailgating, save your appetite for the stadiumΓÇÖs fare, and bring a jacket, even if itΓÇÖs 70 degrees and sunny when you head for the game.┬á All in all itΓÇÖs a unique experience! Formerly the Los Angeles Chargers, owner Barron Hilton had been convinced by local sports writer Jack Murphy to move his team from the LA Coliseum to San Diego. Unfortunately, San Diego had no major league Stadium when the team moved here in 1961. Thus, Murphy’s next challenge was to convince the City to build a stadium for their team. This was accomplished when Proposition 1 passed by a wide margin and $27.75 million was authorized to build a new state-of-the-art multi-purpose stadium with 53,000 seats. Now, Lincoln Financial Field is home to the Eagles.┬á The construction of Lincoln Financial Field began on May 7, 2001. A little less than 28 months later, the stadium hosted its first event, a soccer match between Manchester United and FC Barcelona (8/3/03). The idea of playing at a stadium built in the Meadowlands first attracted the Giants’ attention when they realized that they could provide 15,000 more seats and help meet the increasing demands of the fans without a major switch in location. Giants Stadium is only 6.9 miles from Times Square, compared to Yankee Stadium which is 6.6.

In May of 1967, a local New Jersey newspaper first proposed the idea of building a Sports Complex. The idea of the complex could not begin until a major sports franchise could be attracted to the concept. With an aging Yankee Stadium, the Giants and the Yankees became immediate targets. Giants Stadium – Giants.com

The Official Site of the New York Giants – Giants.com

New York Giants Team Page

NFL.com – Official Site of the National Football League

Use the interactive map below to pan and zoom around the Aerial View or Bird’s Eye View of the stadium.  Make sure and check out the rest of the NFL Stadium views to find another team’s home field!

Link to Live Maps

Technorati Tags: NFL,New York Giants,Giants Stadium,Virtual Earth,Stadium,NFC East

Dallas Cowboys – Texas Stadium Aerial and Bird’s Eye View

Featured

NFL

Texas

Dallas Cowboys

NFC East

Stadium

Texas Stadium

Virtual Earth

Texas Stadium is the home field of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys. It is located at Irving, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, and opened on October 24, 1971, at a cost of $35 million. The stadium seats 65,675. Built to replace the aging Cotton Bowl, the stadium was to have originally been a domed stadium, but the stadium could not support the weight of the entire roof, and public funding ran out before the roof support structure could be modified. This resulted in most of the stands being enclosed but not the playing field itself. This unusual arrangement – more commonly seen in European soccer stadiums – prompted Cowboys linebacker D.D. Located in Foxborough, Massachusetts, the facility opened in 2002, replacing Foxboro Stadium. The seating capacity is 68,756, including 6,000 club seats and 87 luxury suites. The stadium is owned and operated by Massachusetts businessman Robert Kraft, who also owns the Patriots and Revolution. The stadium was originally known as CMGI Field before the naming rights were bought by Gillette after the “dot-com” bust. Although Gillette has since merged with Procter & Gamble, the stadium retains the Gillette name because P&G has continued to use the Gillette brand name. Additionally, uBid (until April 2003 a wholly owned subsidiary of CMGI) as of 2006 continues to sponsor one of the main entrance gates to the stadium.
