Nestled snugly on the banks of the Olentangy River, stately Ohio Stadium is one of the most recognizable landmarks in all of college athletics.

Ohio Stadium is one of the most recognizable landmarks in all of sports. Built in 1922 at a cost of $1.3 million and refurbished in 2001 for slightly more than $194 million, the horseshoe-shaped stadium is a monument to college football. As part of the renovation, the once portable South Stands became a permanent fixture.

Nippert Stadium has been home to Bearcats football since 1902, making it the fourth-oldest playing site and fifth-oldest stadium in college football.

The stadium’s founder was Arch Carson, who as captain and principal organizer, played a significant role in starting football on the UC campus in 1885. In 1901 as physical director of the university, Carson guided the construction of the field which was later named for him-the playing surface is still called Carson Field.

In 1916, construction began on a permanent brick-and-concrete stadium structure, which was completed, section-by-section, as funds were raised.┬á Cont – Nippert Stadium Official Site

Tradition is such an important part of the Browns, so itΓÇÖs important to note that ever since they were born in 1946, they have played on the same site on the shores of Lake Erie.

From 1946-95, their home was Cleveland Municipal Stadium. The Browns won all eight of their league championships there and hosted 17 postseason games. It is also where 15 men — 14 players and one coach ΓÇô built careers that eventually landed them in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.┬á – Official Site

Paul Brown Stadium is a football stadium located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is the home of the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League. It opened on August 19, 2000. Kings Island is a 364 acre (1.5 km┬▓) amusement park located in the city of Mason, in Warren County, Ohio, USA. The park is located 24 miles (39 km) northeast of Cincinnati. The park owns close to 775 acres (3.2 km┬▓) of land, but only 364 acres (1.5 km┬▓) are currently developed. Cedar Point is a 364 acre (1.5 km┬▓) amusement park located in Sandusky, Ohio, U.S. on a narrow peninsula jutting into Lake Erie. It currently holds the world record for most roller coasters with 17, one of them being the world’s second tallest and second fastest roller coaster, Top Thrill Dragster, which reaches speeds of 120 mph and a height of 420 feet. Cedar Point is also the only amusement park with four roller coasters that are taller than 200 feet (61 m). As of 2008 Cedar Point will be the only park in the world with 76 rides, becoming the park with the most rides. The park also has a mile-long white sand beach, two water parks (Soak City and Castaway Bay, which also includes a hotel service), two marinas, several hotels, and “Challenge Park” featuring attractions such as go-karts and miniature golf. Known as “America’s Roller Coast”, Cedar Point has been voted “Best Amusement Park in the World” by Amusement Today for the past ten years. – Wikipedia

For years, baseball in Cleveland was played in the cold, cramped, mammoth Cleveland Municipal Stadium. “The Mistake by the Lake,” as they called it, had been the home of Cleveland baseball since it first opened in 1932, although the Indians still played some games at old League Park until 1947. Its center-field bleachers, known as “the Dawg Pound” during the NFL Cleveland Browns games, were so distant that no batter ever reached them with a home run. Cleveland Municipal Stadium had more than 74,000 seats (more than any other major league park) but few of those seats were filled when the Indians played. That all changed when Progressive Field, which has only 43,345 seats, opened in 1994. Attendance suddenly boomed. In their first year at the new park, Cleveland averaged 39,121 fans per game. The final 28 games before a season-ending strike all sold out. – BallParks.com

Muirfield Village Golf Club was the dream and work of Jack Nicklaus. The land was acquired in 1966, but construction did not begin until July 28, 1972. The golf course is situated on 220 acres, which includes an 11-acre driving range. The course was officially dedicated on Memorial Day, May 27, 1974, with an exhibition match between Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf. Nicklaus scored a six-under par 66, which stood as the course record until 1979. – PGA Site

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is located in Cleveland Ohio – below is an aerial view of the building.

A stunning piece of daring architecture designed by internationally renowned architect I. M. Pei, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum contains equally remarkable interactive exhibits, films, videos and priceless and poignant artifacts, and serves as host of the permanent Hall of Fame exhibit. In addition to its permanent exhibits, the Museum stages a number of temporary exhibits throughout the year, including large-scale exhibits that occupy the top two levels of the building. The Museum also produces programs for the public that include concerts, lectures, panel discussions, film series, teacher education and other events.
