Bridger Field House at Groves Stadium, built at a cost of $8 million, officially opened in the fall of 1998 and serves the football team in numerous ways, as well as being a major catalyst for the continued growth and development of the overall program. It includes offices for the athletic ticket office, the marketing and promotions staff, and the Deacon Club, as well as the Norman Snead Club Room and the Bill Barnes Sports Lounge which will be the site of athletic (and general university) functions for years to come.

The WFU Hall of Fame also has its new home in the complex, and a Deacon Gift Shop is available “in house” to service WFU fans during home contests and throughout the calendar year. The Official Site of Bridger Field House

North Carolina State Wolfpack – Carter-Finley Stadium Aerial and Bird’s Eye View

Carter-Finley Stadium was opened in 1966 as home to the North Carolina State University Wolfpack football team. The stadium replaced the obsolete on-campus Riddick Stadium and was originally named Carter Stadium in honor of Harry C. & Wilbert J. “Nick” Carter, both graduates of the university. They were major contributors to the original building of the stadium. The name of Albert E. Finley, another major contributor to the University, was added later. While located on University land, the stadium is a few miles to the west of the academic campus on Trinity Road just off of Hillsborough Street. The capacity was 60,000 seats for 2006. Opened in the summer of 1996, Bank of America Stadium is located in the uptown district of Charlotte and was specifically designed for football by HOK Sports Facilities Group of Kansas City, MO. The 73,778-seat, privately-financed, open-air, natural grass stadium is designed as a self-contained headquarters for the Carolina Panthers and includes training facilities, practice fields and administrative offices.

The stadium facade features many unique elements, such as massive arches and towers at the entries, clad in building materials that accent the team colors of black, silver and Panthers blue. Carowinds is a 112-acre theme park, located adjacent to I-77 on the state line between North and South Carolina, in Charlotte and Fort Mill, respectively. Lowe’s Motor Speedway was designed and built in 1959 by current chairman O. Bruton Smith. The late Curtis Turner, one of stock car racing’s earliest driving stars, was Smith’s business partner.

Looking at the Virtual Earth photography tonight getting some shots to post up for the location of the speedway – I found this!

When they were taking the Bird’s Eye Photos of the Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte┬áthey caught it during some NASCAR testing. Looks like Gordon, Johnson and Dale Jr. (just a guess since the photos are a little old) are in the photo – along with some others.
