The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA or Air Force), is an accredited college for the undergraduate education of officers for the United States Air Force. Its campus is located immediately north of Colorado Springs in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. The Academy’s stated mission is “to educate, train, and inspire men and women to become officers of character motivated to lead the United States Air Force in service to our nation.” It is the youngest of the five United States service academies, having graduated its first class in 1959. Graduates of the Academy’s four-year program receive a Bachelor of Science degree, and most are commissioned as second lieutenants in the United States Air Force.The Academy is also one of the largest tourist attractions in Colorado, attracting more than a million visitors each year. Folsom Field opened in 1924, and has been the home of the CU football team ever since. Through the 2007 football season, the Buffs have a home record of 286-139-14, a winning percentage of .667. Prior to the opening of Folsom Field, CU played its games at Gamble Field for two decades, where the seating capacity of 9,000 was limited to temporary bleachers.

Originally known as Colorado Stadium for its first twenty years, it was renamed in 1944, following the death of legendary CU coach Fred Folsom. He coached the Buffs from 1895-1902 and 1908-15, compiling a 78-24-2 (.760) overall record.┬á Cont – Folsom Field – Wikipedia

Garden of the Gods is a public park located in Colorado Springs. The outstanding geologic features of the park are the ancient sedimentary beds of red and white sandstones, conglomerates and limestone that were deposited horizontally, but have now been tilted vertically and faulted by the immense mountain building forces caused by the uplift of the Pikes Peak massif. Evidence of past ages; ancient seas, eroded remains of ancestral mountain ranges, alluvial fans, sandy beaches and great sand dune fields can be read in the rocks. A spectacular shear fault can be observed where the Tower of Babel (Lyons Sandstone) contacts the Fountain formation. – Wikipedia

On Aug. 16, 1990, almost a year before baseball awarded Colorado an expansion team, voters from the six-county Denver area approved a 0.1 percent sales tax to fund a baseball-only stadium. The ballpark’s total cost was $215 million.

Architects originally designed the park to seat 43,800. However, after fans set dozens of attendance records at Mile High Stadium (1993-94), Rockies ownership paid to increase inaugural Opening Day capacity to 50,200. In 1998, capacity was increased to 50,381 after the opening of new suites in right field. That year saw Coors host baseball’s 69th All-Star Game. The park currently seats 50,445 fans. – Official Site

Four Corners Aerial View

The Four Corners is a place where Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado all come together.

The Four Corners Monument was originally surveyed and established by the US Government Surveyors and Astronomers in 1868 with the survey of Colorado’s southern boundary. Surveys followed of New Mexico’s west boundary and Utah’s east boundary in 1878. The northern boundary of Arizona was surveyed in 1901. A small permanent marker was erected in 1912 where the boundaries of the four states intersected. The Monument was refurbished in 1992 with a bronze disk embedded in granite. Each of the state boundaries radiate from the disk and each state’s seal rests within that state’s boundary. Utah.com
